Douglas Alexander is the Director of the Institute for Cybersecurity & Emerging Technologies at ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ, where he leads efforts to advance cybersecurity education, workforce development, and emerging technologies across the state. He played a pivotal role in launching one of the nation’s first IBM Cyber Campuses, featuring an immersive Cyber Range classroom, and works to equip students, professionals, and government leaders with critical skills in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Doug has held leadership roles in K-12 technology administration, research and education networks (RENs), and systems engineering. As a technology educator and former board member of OSHEAN and RISTE, he has been deeply involved in education technology, statewide network security, student data privacy, and fostering digital equity. He is a sought-after speaker on cybersecurity and AI, advising corporate partners, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

A Rhode Island resident since 2002, Doug holds degrees from Princeton University and the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Beyond his professional work, he is active in community volunteer efforts, supporting initiatives that promote education, technology access, and public service.
