The Clery Act is a federal law that requires colleges and universities in the United States to disclose information about crime on and around their campuses.

The Clery Act mandates the reporting and collection of crime statistics, timely warnings about threats to the campus community, and policies regarding campus safety and security. The law aims to promote transparency and awareness of campus safety issues among students, staff, and the public. Additional legal details are provided on the .

Campus Security Authorities

A Campus Security Authority (CSA) is an individual designated under the Clery Act who has significant responsibility for student and campus activities at an institution of higher education. CSAs include various campus personnel such as campus police/security officers, resident assistants, coaches, advisors of student organizations, and other campus officials who interact regularly with students. CSAs undergo annual training to reinforce their responsibilities and ensure they are informed and prepared to fulfill their roles effectively. CSAs are required to promptly report all crimes they become aware of to Campus Police. by calling the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ Campus Police at 401-456-8888. Alternatively, CSAs can report crimes here. Understand Our Annual Security and Fire Safety Reports

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASR) mandated by the Clery Act is a document that the college must publish annually by October 1st. It includes campus crime statistics, security policies, and fire safety measures to inform and promote campus safety and compliance with federal regulations. This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ.
