Why Technology Education? | Why Our Program?
- Our program provides a rigorous technical background and the highest level of teacher preparation.
- Our students take 10 technical classes and engage in a capstone design project.
- We offer two concentrations: teaching and applied technology. Students with a teaching concentration will be eligible for full certification to teach technology education in grades K-12 in Rhode Island upon completion of the program.
- Topics covered in the include: teaching and learning, educational psychology, special education practices, computer-aided design, manufacturing systems and communication systems.
Our technology education majors work with cutting-edge tools and processes, including CNC milling, 3D printing, design software, laser cutting and etching, robotics and a precision measurement arm.
